Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Space Between Accelerator (or SBX) is a three month program for a select group of “BOSSes” (Bold Owners of Successful Side hustles).
SBX empowers enterprising Black women who are currently low income to achieve economic mobility by transforming their side hustles into their main hustles.
The program will include learning modules focusing on topics that include owner mindset, marketing, business plan development, financial management, growth strategies, and funding.
BOSSes are taught the fundamentals of business operations through a series of learning modules that are taught by other Black women business owners. The modules include both in-person classroom style learning and “in the field” learning where BOSSes attend vending events, trade shows and visit other businesses. Time in between meetings is focused on implementing the learnings into the participant’s business.
In addition to educational workshops, each BOSS is paired with a business mentor in her industry and receives individualized attention to focus on the specific needs of her business.
SBX provides community. Some of the most important learning in the program will be peer-to-peer as each woman shares her business successes and challenges with facilitators and peers.
SBX provides wrap-around support to BOSSes to allow them to fully participate in SBX and focus on their business.
Program support may include providing: laptops, food and childcare during meetings, transportation, and limited wage replacement/stipend for certain hours of work time missed due to program participation. Our goal is to make the program as accessible as possible.
Each BOSS is celebrated with a graduation following her successful completion of SBX. Select BOSSes receive a monetary grant to support a specific business need that will allow her to continue leveling up her business post-graduation.
Graduation isn't the end though! The Space Between alumni community continue to empower BOSSes and provide assistance they need to continue to grow and thrive.
